8 Areas That Respond Well to Vaser Liposuction

Over 200,000 American women and men had liposuction last year, making it one of the top five most popular cosmetic surgeries in the United States. Traditional liposuction has been around for a long time, and as good as it is at getting rid of fat, it still has its limitations.

At Advanced Vein Treatment and Cosmetic Center, Amjad Safvi, MD, and our team offer both traditional liposuction and newer Vaser® ultrasound-assisted liposuction to ensure you get the right treatment for your goals.

How Vaser works

Both traditional liposuction and Vaser lipo work in a similar way to remove fat, but there is one key difference. While traditional liposuction relies on a blunt-tipped tube called a cannula to break up fat and suction it out, Vaser uses gentle waves of ultrasound energy to gently loosen and break apart fat, making it an ideal option for areas that are smaller and where a smooth, consistent result is paramount.

The Vaser system uses “liposelection” technology designed to tell the difference between fat and other tissues, like nerves and blood vessels. During your treatment, Vaser focuses on getting rid of excess, unwanted fat while leaving other tissues undisturbed.

During treatment, your doctor inserts a slim probe through a tiny incision directly to the area of fat removal. The probe emits pulses of ultrasound energy to gently break up fat, while suction draws the fatty debris out of your body.

8 areas where Vaser can help

Vaser technology is designed for safe, effective fat removal from head to toe, including these eight common trouble zones.

#1: Arms

Arm flab affects both women and men, and despite scores of pushups, fat in this area can be really hard to manage. Using ultrasound-assisted liposuction allows the doctor to sculpt your arms so they look and feel firm, sexy, and toned.

#2: Chin and neck

The chin and neck are two other smaller areas where traditional liposuction often falls short. Vaser’s ultrasound-assisted technology allows for precise fat removal along with super-smooth contours afterward.

#3: Waist

Waist fat is known by some cute names — muffin top, love handles — but in the end, it’s still unattractive fat. Vaser eliminates waist fat in a highly precise way to create sexier, firmer contours.

#4: Belly bulge

As the next-door neighbor to the waist area, the tummy takes on a lot of fat, too, especially as we get older. Excess belly fat can actually increase your risk of heart disease, even if the rest of your body is in shape and your BMI is in the normal range. Vaser can eliminate that tummy flab for good.

#5: Back

You may not be able to see back fat — but others can. And those lumps and bulges can ruin your outfit, too. Vaser’s technology is designed to successfully treat back fat without leaving ridges or depressions.

#6: Buttocks

Wish you were smaller in the rear? Vaser can help reduce a burdensome bottom so your booty looks firm and toned.

#7: Thighs

Like the tummy, thighs are one of the most common areas for excess fat buildup. Even if the rest of your body is toned, you can still have heavy thighs. Vaser’s ultrasound technique offers smooth, consistent results for thighs that look firmer and sexier.

#8: Ankles

Most of us know the unflattering term “cankle” and all it entails. If your ankles are plagued by fatty deposits, Vaser’s precision technology could be just what you’re looking for to get the slim ankles you want.

Stubborn fat is just that — stubborn. When diet and exercise can’t get you the slim results you want, Vaser liposuction at our Lake Zurich and Chicago Ridge, Illinois, practices can help. To learn more, call or book an appointment online today.
